Treatments for Skin Blemishes

Published on: July 14, 2020

We put so much effort and time into our faces to look our best. It can be especially difficult to do just that when our skin frequently breaks out with blemishes. Some types of skin are more prone to skin blemishes. Luckily, we offer a variety of treatments that are perfect to take care of your skin blemishes.

HydraFacial

When looking to treat your skin blemishes, you will want to start off with a simple, yet effective treatment before trying more in-depth solutions. One of our most popular treatments is the HydraFacial, a treatment that is designed to clear out your pores and treat any blemishes. HydraFacials are non-invasive and leave your skin feeling completely refreshed. The treatment can be completed in as little as half an hour using a handheld applicator. This will clear off the dead skin cells and open up your pores. Blackheads and impurities will be removed via suction, and the facial finishes with an antioxidant serum to help keep your skin feeling soft. The combination of hydration, extraction, and fusion is the perfect way to get rid of undesirable blemishes. Additional benefits include reducing any wrinkles, fine lines, redness, brown spots, and clogged pours. You will leave your appointment feeling just as great as when you walked in without any negative side effects. Your skin will look incredible after your HydraFacial appointment.

Chemical Peel

If your skin blemishes are more significant, they can be treated with a chemical peel. Do not let the name “chemical peel” scare away from this incredible procedure. This type of treatment is perfect for getting rid of blemishes such as active acne, smooth acne scars, sun damage, and uneven pigmentation. For the unfamiliar, chemical peels are a treatment that causes the outermost skin layer to peel. We apply a mild acid over the entire surface of your face. This solution will cause the skin to begin peeling. To treat skin blemishes, you can benefit from a superficial or medium skin peel; deep chemical peels are generally used for reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Overall, the treatment only lasts around 10 minutes. Patients report feeling sensations of cooling, heating, and some stinging but not enough to make it unbearable or painful. After your procedure you can expect some redness (more redness for deeper the peel) and possible scaling. Medium peels can also have side effects including possible blisters, swelling, and peeling that can last for several days. While these side effects are more significant than a HydraFacial, chemical peels can help you get rid of more noticeable blemishes.

Laser Acne Scar Removal

Ask anyone who has developed severe cases of acne and they will tell you handling the acne scars is extremely difficult. These types of blemishes can stay with you for years or even be lifelong. Fortunately, we offer a treatment that can help keep your acne scarring under control. Laser acne scar removal is a treatment that can help you achieve smooth skin again. Our treatment uses a combination of non-ablative lasers to help invigorate collagen production in the skin and ablative lasers which will remove the actual scar tissue. This combination allows us to reduce the appearance of your acne scars and have it replaced with new, smooth skin tissue. Overall, the procedure is minimally invasive ensuring you will not have a significant recovery time waiting for you after. Do not let acne scar tissue blemish your skin and prevent you from feeling great about yourself.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

For the most significant skin blemish issues, you may require laser skin resurfacing. This type of procedure is similar to laser scar removal but features our fractional CO2 laser. It can handle more severe forms of skin blemishes including acne scarring, frown lines, irregular skin textures, and more. During the procedure, a topical anesthetic cream will be applied to your skin to ensure your comfort. Next, the laser will begin resurfacing the skin, which will take an hour on average. Any healthy tissue will be unaffected, leaving you with beautiful looking skin free of any skin blemishes. More invasive treatments such as this can leave you with downtime for about a week. We will provide a variety of recommendations on how to keep you face clean and feeling well during this time.
